WSCA Small Parcel Delivery Service Contracts - Rate Comparison Sampling Charts

Rate Comparison Sampling Charts

Agencies can review the DGS rate comparison sampling charts (provided below) to identify which carrier provides the lowest rate by specific service/category/zone (generally the distance between origin and destination) and any special services required.

Why use the rate comparison sampling charts?  DGS analyzed the first 30 weight classes for the most commonly requested modes of transportation (i.e., ground or next day delivery) and highlighted the lowest priced carrier.

To view all sampled rates for a zone, click on the specific Zone link (in blue below) or view the carriers' pages. General mileage distances for each Zone are shown for shipments in the contiguous US.

  • Zones 2-4 cover most intrastate shipments.  Below are rate comparison sampling tables for packages from 1 to 30 pounds:

ZONE 2 (0 - 150 Miles)
ZONE 3 (151 - 300 Miles)
ZONE 4 (301 - 600 Miles)

  • Mileage for Zones 6-8 (typically interstate shipments), are as follows:

ZONE 5 = 601 - 1,000 miles
ZONE 6 = 1,001 - 1,400 miles
ZONE 7 = 1,401 - 1,800 miles
ZONE 8 = 1,801 miles or more

For these and additional zones or for weights not provided at the links for Zones 2-4, above, refer to the Service Guides available from individual carrier websites.
