The State of California and HealthTrans have contracted in a statewide contract for a Pharmaceutical Benefits Manager (PBM). This PBM contract provides access and assists participants in managing and controlling costs associated with pharmaceutical drug therapies without compromising patient care, provides a more efficient and effective method of managing the prescription process, helps assist reimbursement to community pharmacies and provides a reporting mechanism to participants. This contract currently serves the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Adult Parole. This contract allows other State, local and public agency government entities to elect to participate.
