New CAL-Card Contract (DGS MSA 5-06-99-01) FAQs

Q - What is the most important action I need to take at present?
A - Download a copy of the new contract and the applicable contract documents; either a Standard 213 or the Local Agency addendum.  Complete the contracting documents and send them to the Bank ASAP.
Q - I am a Local Agency.  Who can sign the Local Agency Addendum?
A - You have three choices as to how to execute the Local Agency Addendum.  The easiest - Have the document signed by an authorized individual AND the agency's attorney.  The second choice is to have the document signed by the authorized individual and enclose a Board Resolution that states that the agency wants to participate in the CAL-Card contract and names the signer as the authorized executor of the document.  Lastly have the document signed by the authorized individual, and complete the Certificate of Authority page 3 of the addendum.
Q - Where do I send the completed contract documents?
A - Send them to:
CAL-Card Contract Administrator
US Bank - EP-MN-L26C
200 South Sixth Street
Minneapolis, MN  55402
Q - Where should I direct any questions?
A - Send an email to either calcard@dgs.ca.gov or calcard@usbank.com
Q - The old contract ends in December.  Will the Bank shut my cards down if I am not finished re-contracting?
A - NO, the Bank will not close down your accounts, but you MUST re-contract ASAP.
Q - The new contract involves transitioning to a new processing platform.  What do I need to do?
A - The Bank will begin contacting participating agencies in January to begin the transition.  You do not need to do anything until such time as you are contacted.
Q - Will we get new cards as part of the transition?
A - Yes, ALL CAL-Cards will be re-issued, but no existing cards will be closed until such time as the new cards are in hand and acitivated.
